Christian Counselor
While we are not actively looking for an additional therapist, we are always open to
the Lord's leading and would consider adding just the right person to our staff.

If you are a seasoned Christian therapist who has skills and areas of expertise that would
compliment and expand those already existing in our practice, and are looking for some
part time hours - which could grow to full time as you network and take initiative to grow your
patient load -, we would like to hear from you.  Solid, general counseling skills
are necessary and areas of particular specialization, training, certification or interest
would  be a bonus.  A strong generalist with experience treating depression, anxiety,
grief, anger, personality disorders, adults and adolescents, with skills in dealing with
addictive personalities - whatever the addiction might be - would be very attractive to us.

Requires a Master's degree in psychology or counseling, a valid Texas license
and LPC certification.  Must have a minimum of 5 years post-training experience
(just to clarify, supervision is considered
part of training) and 5 years
recent counseling experience to be considered.  

All patient contact will be in our office during our regular office hours.

Potential candidate must be a good fit with our existing practice personnel, our practice
philosophy and approach.  Part - time to begin, but as therapist begins to market and
network, there is potential to grow to full time.

While therapist may be employed elsewhere such as at a church, hospital, crisis intervention
consultant, etc.,
he/she will not be active in another private practice or see private patients
outside of Stonebriar Psychiatric Services to avoid any conflict of interest.  

If therapist is semi-retiring, moving from, or closing a private practice, we will consider welcoming
therapist's existing patients, if any, into the practice within the parameters of our Office Policy.  

The successful candidate will be added to our website, with special emphasis on featuring
any unique and interesting areas of experience, interest, and expertise.  If our new therapist
initially or eventually desires more hours, we will support her or him through
the website and encourage the therapist to network with local referral sources, professional
societies and groups, etc. in order to generate additional referrals for themselves.  
There is very good potential to grow beyond the part-time status for
an individual willing to put in the time and effort to do so.

All initial evaluations at Stonebriar Psychiatric Services are full psychiatric evaluations
by Dr. Tharp (with the exception of patients desiring only marital or family therapy).  
Any patient referrals generated by new therapist would be seen in counseling by
that therapist after their initial assessment by Dr. Tharp.

Because we have chosen to protect our patients' privacy and not participate in any
insurance panels,
we are only able to consider individuals who are on no insurance panels.
